🛠 Tooling & Engineering DFM
What is your typical lead time from 3D CAD freeze to T1 mold samples? ▾
Our standard tooling turnaround schedules depend on mold complexity and cavitation:
- Rapid Bridge / Prototype Tooling (Aluminum or P20 steel): 10 to 15 business days.
- Production Multi-Cavity Tooling (Hardened S136, H13, NAK80): 20 to 30 business days.
- Large-Format or Complex 2K / Hot Runner Tools: 30 to 40 business days.
A comprehensive 15–25 page DFM report is submitted within 24–48 hours of receiving your 3D CAD files prior to steel cutting.
Who owns the injection molds, and can tooling be exported overseas? ▾
You maintain 100% exclusive legal ownership of all tooling paid for by your company. All molds are tagged with your unique inventory asset numbers. We offer complimentary insured storage and lifetime routine maintenance for molds that run in our manufacturing facility. If you ever decide to transfer or export your tooling, we crate and prepare the tool for international ocean/air shipping immediately upon request.
What steel grades and mold components do you use?
▾
We do not cut corners with soft generic steels. All tooling steel is certified with metallurgical mill test reports:
- High-Corrosion / Medical / High-Gloss: Premium S136 / Stavax (HRC 48–52) through-hardened stainless steel.
- High-Production Engineering Glass-Reinforced: H13 / 1.2344 (HRC 48–52).
- Standard Structural Enclosures: NAK80 or 718H pre-hardened steel.
- Mold Bases & Components: Standard DME, HASCO, or MISUMI guide pins, bushings, and lifters to ensure easy international replacement.

🧪 Materials & Custom Compounding
Can you custom compound small trial batches of modified resins? ▾
Yes. Because we operate dedicated in-house twin-screw compounding lines, we can formulate pilot development batches as small as 25 kg to 100 kg for physical tensile testing, mold shrinkage confirmation, and mechanical proofing before committing to high-tonnage production.
Can you custom color match resins to Pantone or RAL codes? ▾
Yes. Our color laboratory matches custom masterbatches to specified Pantone, RAL, or physical color swatch targets. We control color variance using digital spectrophotometers to guarantee consistent batch-to-batch repeatability within a tolerance of Delta E < 0.5.
What material compliance certificates accompany production shipments? ▾
Every single production delivery includes a lot-specific Certificate of Analysis (COA) documenting Melt Flow Rate (MFR), tensile yield strength, and ash content. We also provide full compliance declarations for RoHS 3, REACH SVHC, UL94 flammability Yellow Cards, and FDA / USP Class VI biocompatibility documentation upon request.
📜 Commercial Terms, IP Security & Logistics
How do you protect our proprietary CAD intellectual property (IP)? ▾
We execute enforceable bilateral Non-Disclosure Agreements (NDAs) before receiving 3D CAD files. Your CAD files, proprietary resin compounding formulations, and molded part geometries are restricted on encrypted internal project servers with role-based engineering access. We never display unreleased client parts or trademarked logos without explicit written authorization.
What are your minimum order quantities (MOQ)? ▾
We support every phase of your hardware product lifecycle:
- Prototyping / EVT: 1 to 50 pieces (CNC or 3D printing).
- Pilot Production / DVT: 500 to 2,000 pieces via prototype or bridge molds.
- Serial Mass Production: Typically 3,000 to 1,000,000+ units, structured around your quarterly demand releases.
What are standard payment terms and international Incoterms? ▾
Standard tooling terms are 50% deposit upon tool launch, 30% upon approval of T1 initial sample parts, and 20% upon final production sign-off. Serial production part orders are typically 30% deposit with the balance payable against the Bill of Lading (B/L), with revolving Net-30 credit terms available for established long-term OEM partners. We regularly ship under FOB, CIF, CFR, and DDP (Delivered Duty Paid) terms directly to your domestic warehouse.
